Precise is a Must
With the high precision navigation map Deutschland Plus
Assignment
Great demands are made on the Facility Management sections of large
industrial, chemical and similar plant areas. Those responsible can be given
support in fulfilling their tasks through digital, geo-referenced terrain
models with up-to-date data. Siemens has commissioned CENALO, one of LOGIBALL’s
partners to record the infrastructure of the Siemens
Technology
Park
in Mülheim-an-der-Ruhr. This involves creating an orthophoto which delivers
up-to-date aerial photographs as well as data for existing documentation. Over
and beyond this Siemens has also commissioned aerial photographs of individual
buildings as oblique photographs as well as a full view of the Technology
Park.
Here a point accuracy of five centimetres has to be maintained for the land-use
mapping and subsequent data maintenance.
The
LOGIBALL Solution
The two partner companies were
able to offer Siemens a direct all-in-one service. This offer ranged from
flight planning and obtaining the necessary authorization through to setting up
the flight robot and on to the finished orthophoto. It took just thirty minutes
and an altitude of a mere 150 metres for the flight robot to record the site. In
order to reference the photographs, control points were marked out on the
ground and/or natural control points were subsequently measured. LOGIBALL‘s Map
Engineering Team went on to process the aerial photographs to come up with a
finished orthophoto.
Success
Flight robots are ideally suited to record industrial, chemical and
other company premises. They are fast and flexible in use and present a
cost-effective alternative to the production of aerial photographs. Thanks to
the low altitude this technology guarantees a high pixel resolution, achieving
an accuracy of down to two centimetres.
