Business Navigation solution with high precision navigation map Deutschland Plus a decisive factor in favour of the provider from Herne

The two utility companies Technische Werke Friedrichshafen GmbH (TWF) and Regionalwerk Bodensee GmbH & Co. KG (RWB) have decided in favor of the LOGIBALL Business Navigator for their navigation solution. Prior to this, RWB, which is owned partly by TWF, had taken over parts of the EnBW supply network and in close cooperation with RWB, TWF has within just a few weeks already recorded and digitalized considerable amounts of relevant data on the materials and supply items of the company’s new supply network in the geo information system (GIS). Coordinates were stored at additional location points which were created for each supply item. It is precisely here that the LOGIBALL Business Navigator comes in and uses the evaluated coordinates from the GIS to show the way to the destination. “The solution assures quality because we can rely on our workforce arriving quickly at wherever a failure may have occurred”, according to Enno Steffens, Regionalwerk’s Managing Director.

The LOGIBALL Business Navigator is equipped with a high precision navigation map which has been especially developed for the challenges faced by power supply companies. As one of the few independent players in the market LOGIBALL is in a position to process navigation data from various suppliers and of various format into one map, thus creating a navigation map which provides a much more extensive route network compared with standard navigation maps.

Technische Werke Friedrichshafen GmbH
TWF is a successful service provider in the fields of energy and water supply, traffic and other services. As a regional company employing more than 230 members of staff, TWF is continuing to expand its market position. The TWF electricity network measures almost 800 km, the gas network almost 600 km.

Regionalwerk Bodensee GmbH & Co. KG
In July 2008, seven neighboring authorities around Lake Constance decided to take re-localizing their energy supply into their own hands by founding their own company. Providing electricity and gas to 11,700 customers, Regionalwerk has in the meantime grown to become a considerable factor in the region’s economy. The network operator supplies around 30,000 consumers throughout the region. Regionalwerk’s electricity network measures just short of 1,100 km and in 2009 produced a turnover of 110.5 million kWh. The gas network covers 175 km with an annual turnover of almost 92.5 million kWh.
